On Monday April 10th, join WHYY and America Abroad for a special town hall event, "Darfur: A Humanitarian Crisis," that will examine the prospects for international intervention in Darfur, the moral argument in favor of intervention, and the practical challenges facing those troops and countries that might intervene.
What role should the United States play in addressing the crisis in Darfur, and what are the dangers? What role should be played by the United Nations, and why has there not been more large-scale action to save Darfur, if there is genocide taking place and the United Nations has a "responsibility to protect?"
Hosted by America Abroad's Ray Suarez and WHYY’s Nancy Karibjanian, this special town hall event with a panel of experts will provide members of the public with the opportunity to engage these questions and discuss the most pressing humanitarian crisis facing the world today.
